Services maintenance

The services maintenance allows to create products to sell to your clients (urgent services, 1 hour, 2 hours, LTL, next day, International and others).

These services will then be attributed to the clients using them. You can create up to 999 services by company.

A. Service code
Use the allowed values between 001 and 997. Value 997, 998 and 999 are reserved for internal usage by ProgressionExpress.


B. Description
Enter the description of the service that will appear on call taking (intern and internet) and on the invoice..


C. Revenue G/L number
Indicate the revenue G/L number this service is attached to. By default, the whole of the service's revenue will be collected in the G/L number entered.
If you wish for the revenue to be attributed to multiple G/L accounts, check the "Base amount" box and complete the "Other G/L if base amount" tab.

 

D. Service type
The service type determines the usage of the price grids. It is important that you select the right service type.

 

   1. Postal Code
For this type of service, the software will find the price according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses.

 

    2. Zone
For this type of service, the software will first find the price zone (created in the zone maintenance for the desired service) according to the postal codes entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and then will find the price corresponding to the zone.


    3. City
For this type of service the software will first find the city in the city maintenance for this service to determine the delivery zone. The starting zone is determined in the client's service tab. Once the zones have been determined, the software  will find the price corresponding to the zones found.

 

    4. Kilometer
For this service, the software will calculate the distance between the pickup and delivery addresses, and then will apply the rate by kilometer in the kilometer price grid.
The distance can be entered in the city maintenance or calculated with a button in the call taking by Google.

    5. Quantity (box, skid)
For this service, the software will first find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then find the price according to the zone found and according to the quantity in the price grid for boxes, package or skid.


    6. Weight
For this service type, the software will first find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then find the price according to the zone found and the total weight in the price grid for weight.


    7. L.T.L.
For this service type, the software will first find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then find the price according to the zones found in the LTL price grid.


    8. International
For this service type, the software will first find the price zones (created in the country zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then find the price according to the zone found in the price grid for weight. 

 

    9. Quantity and weight
For this service, the software will find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then fin the price according to the zones found in the price grid by weight and quantity.


    10. Per pack type
For this service, the software will find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will the find the price according to the zones found in the price grid by pack type.


   11. Transport (Box)
For this service type, the software will find the price zones (created in the zone maintenance for the selected service) according to the postal code entered in the pickup and delivery addresses, and will then find the price according to the zones and quantity found in the price grid by boxes. The price is only calculated for the "box" package type.

The following table is a recap of the types of price grid that will be used for each service type. Those indicated by an asterisk (*) are surcharges calculated in extra from the price by the postal codes, zones or city.

Note (1): For the city service type, the price grid will be determined by the identification of the calculation of the price in the city maintenance.

    E. Service mode
The service mode defines how the service will be used in ProgressionExpress. If the service is by agent (like the international service), the software will only generate a pickup in the dispatch module and the call will be billed (when confirmed) after the pickup has been done.
For the regular mode, the software will generate, upon dispatch, a pickup and a delivery and the call will be billed (when confirmed) after completition of the delivery.
For other service modes, they have the same caracteristics as the regular mode, except the allow for the creation of a shipping manifest according to the selected mode.

 

    F. Default grid
When the price grids will be created, it will be possible to assign a default price grid to the service. When the grid will be assigned to the client, it will automatically attributed.

 

    1. Delivery only
Check this box if you want to create a call without a pickup. This option is used for distribution services.

 

    2No dispatch for this service
Check this box if you don't wish to send this call to dispatch.

 

    3. Signature required
Check this box if you wish make the signature mandatory at the delivery of the call.

 

    4. Air service
Check this box (informative only) if the service is made by plane.

 

    5. Service excluded on internet
Check this box if you don't wish for this service to be available to users on the ProgressionExpress website.

 

    6. Warehouse scan
Check this box if the service must be managed by the Warehouse SCAN maintenance.

    7. Non Facturable
Check this box if the service is not billed to the client (commission is still calculated to the sub-contractor).

   

    8. Do not manage delays
Check this box if the service must not be part of the report for delays control.

 

    9. Actif 24h/24h on internet
Check this box if the service must be active at all time on internet.


    10. Booking (voyage)
Check this box if the service is to be used in the booking entry software.

 

    11. International - IMPORT
CHeck this box if this is an international import service. By default, the call taking software will ask the international address for pickups.

 

    12. Proforma
Check this box if the service requires the management of proforma (commercial bills).

 

    13. Maximum creation time
If you wish to, you can enter the maximum hour at which the service is available. After that time, it will be impossible for a user on the internet to enter a call using this service.

 

    14. Service priority
Always enter 1.

 

    15. Maximum pickup delay
Enter the maximum time to make the pickup for a call with this service. Passed this time, a yellow indicator will appear in the dispatch to notify of the lateness.

 

    16. Maximum delivery delay
Enter the maximum time to make the delivery for a call with this service. Passed this time, a red indicator will appear in the dispatch to notify of the lateness.

 

    17. Service time
Enter the total duration of the service. This time will be used to calculate the delays in delivery.

    18. Service time for biker
Enter the total duration of the service if the delivery is made by bike. This time will be used to calculate delays in delivery.

 

    19. Delivery hours table 

Depending on opening hours, it is possible to specify that a service will be delivered the next day or before a specific hours. This table is used to determine the delays in delivery.

 

    20. Taxable (GST, PST and HST)
By default, leave these options at Yes. ProgressionExpress automatically manage taxes by province of delivery.

 

    21. Colors at dispatch
Determines the background and text color that will appear in the dispatch.

 

    22. Not allowed package type
Check the types of package that are forbidden for this service.

 

    23. Commission type (Regular, Downtown, Suburbs)
You can select up to 3 sub-contractor per call.
The first type of commission is for the sub-contractor that will make the delivery. You can enter a percentage, a fixed amount or select no commission for this service. You can also enter a different percentage or amount for week-ends and public holidays.
The two other types of commission are for the other sub-contractors that made the pickup or the transit. The percentage of the commission is the % of the commission paid to the delivery sub-contractor.

 

    24. Fuel code
Enter the fuel surcharge code associated to this service.
Check the box Exempt if the service is exempt from the calculation for fuel surcharge (even of a code is selected in the client maintenance).
Check the Base amount box if you want the surcharge to apply only on the base amount at the creation of a call with this service.
 
    25. Administrative expenses
Enter a % or amount that will be deduced from the subtotal of the call before the commissions calculation.

 

    26. Insurance
Enter the calculation parameter for the surcharge for insurance (declared value).

 

    27. Signature amount
Enter the surcharge fee for a signature request.

    

    28. Truck amount
Enter the surcharge amount if a truck is required for this service during call taking.

 

    29. "Add/Delete to customers by excel file" button
This button allows to add or delete the service to the clients in an Excel file.

 

    30. "Add service to customers" button
This button allows to add the service to all clients.

 

    31. "Cancel service to customers"
This button allows to remove the service to all clients.
